What is this?
Linen band embroidered with red silk with a repeating alternation of two patterns. One is a mermaid and the other a bird and cornucopia, each flipped both vertically and horizontally. The bird and cornucopia portion of the design is taken from Vavassore's pattern book "Esemplario di Lavori," published in Venice in 1532.
